Lorna Baldwin is a Coordinator for the City of Eugene’s Park Stewards program, which oversees various ecological projects in natural areas across Eugene. Awbrey Park is a particularly important restoration site because it is an ongoing project, which contains a complex yet fragile ecosystem.

Removal of English Ivy and other invasive non-native species of plants was the main concern for this particular restoration. Removing these organisms is crucial because they are not part of the natural Oregon habitat and can cause stress on the native species.
